# Product access

> Understand Trade Document availability and API entitlement checks.

# Product access — Trade Document

Trade Document currently appears as **Coming Soon** in The Wo product catalog.
There is no public plan or self-service activation path at this time. Publishing
this guide and the API contract does not grant product access.

When availability changes, check the
[Trade Document page in Developer Console](https://thewo.io/app/products/trade-document)
for the current plan and activation path. After access is enabled, create an
[API key](https://thewo.io/app/api-keys) and follow the
[Quickstart](https://docs.thewo.io/trade-document/quickstart.md).

## API access checks

Trade Document requires API key authentication and an active entitlement for
product `trade_document` and operation `document_extraction`. A valid API key
identifies a customer; it does not by itself authorize extraction.

If the customer is not entitled, the API returns `403 product_not_entitled`.
If entitlement cannot be safely evaluated, it returns
`503 entitlement_check_unavailable`. Neither response means the document itself
was rejected. See [Errors](https://docs.thewo.io/trade-document/guides/errors.md).
